SAREE THE TRADITION WITH STYLE

Hello Ladies!

Today I am going to share with you all my Favorite way of Draping A Saree,

Saree draping is nothing but a strip of cloth being wrapped around a beautiful body. Do you know that the word Saree was taken from A Sanskrit Word 'Sati' which means 'A Strip Of Cloth'.

And it is because of this simplicity that we can shape it into a hundred different styles. When draped aesthetically, there is no argument about the saree being the most graceful and versatile garment for a woman. Our Bollywood Diva's are just proving that this simple traditional attire of our culture is really classy too.

The origin of draping a saree is several centuries old – apparently it was first recorded in the Indus valley civilization. However, the modern 6 yards saree evolved from the original two-piece garment of yesteryears. In the beginning, saree is believed to have been a garment for the lower body only. This style can still be seen on temple sculptures which show goddesses and dancers wearing a dothi-wrap. This fish-tale saree wearing style loosely covers the legs and has long decorative pleats down the front. This saree drape not only facilitated easy movement but also made the wearer look more feminine. None of these historical examples show bodices. Usually the upper body was left bare or another piece of cloth was used to cover it. This tradition is still alive in Kerala’sMundum-Neryathum and Assam’s Mekhela Chador.

So I am going to list down some really interesting ways of draping a Saree:

#1. Bengali Style Saree Draping:

It is one of the easiest ways to drape a saree though the ultimate look might seem to be contrary! It is a style that involves two wide pleats and a large key ring with keys to hold down the double-wrapped pallu. This style is best worn with handloom sarees or light cotton ones, though you can try with a brocade saree as well.

One of the sweetest Saree draping forms in India is undoubtedly the Bengali style. Remember Aishwarya’s look in Devdas and Vidya Balan’s in Parineeta? While they looked stunning in the beautifully draped Saree in Bengali style, we tell you how it goes. In this the pleats around the waist are few, only two big ones while the pallu is wrapped twice around the body.
If you want to flaunt the Bengali style the traditional way, grab one elegant piece in handloom, cotton or benarasi. And yes, don’t miss that big red bindi on your forehead.

#2. Lehenga style Saree Draping:

When you have to wear your saree for a close one’s wedding, you can drape it to look like you are wearing a lehenga instead! With the help of several pleats tucked around the waist to give the illusion of a lehenga, you can easily convert the regular saree to something more celebratory.

#3. Marathi Saree Draping Style:

Marathi way of draping a saree is really unique, and you can relate this why because most of the women use to work wearing the saree. Owing to its uniqueness, time and again it has defined faminity for the women also working in the Bollywood industry.

The Maharashtrians call it the Nau Vari style. This style came into existence due to the Lavani dancers and mostly seen this on the silver screen. Well, it may look really difficult to drape that 9-yard long Saree, once mastered creates a super stylish look. You may be amazed with the fact that it does not require a petticoat beneath, and can be simple worn over just the shorts.

#4. Odisha Saree Draping Style:

Odisha Women's Typically wear Sambhalpuri or Bomkari Saree in Vibrant Colors like, Red, Green, Orange, Yellow or Purple.

They create a beautiful contrast in the backdrop of the yellow-brown sandstone temples. You can choose between a cotton version or a silk version of these sarees. Accessorize with silver filigree jewelry and a red bindi.

#5. Gujrati Way Of Draping Saree:

Perhaps the second most popular form of tying a Saree is the Gujarati Style that came into the limelight all the more, courtesy our daily “Saas Bahu” TV serials. It’s quite similar to the classic style, however, the only difference is that you have to start draping the Saree from your left instead.
Now follow the same process as the Nivi form and let the pallu fall over your right shoulder from the back. You can then choose to leave it hanging or tuck the left end of your saree on your left covering your chest. So, go Gujarati this wedding season and flaunt the elaborate work on your “seedha” pallu.

#6. Classic way of Draping Saree:

The classic style is the most common form of draping the Saree which is being followed by woman across the world. This way of tying the Saree is inspired from Nivi form that belongs to Andhra Pradesh. All you need to do is to tuck one end of the Saree (to your front right) inside the petticoat and then wrap it around your waist once.
Now pleat the pallu, slip it under your left hand and make it fall on the left shoulder. Form neat pleats of the center portion of the Saree and tuck it in your waist baring the midriff and completing the style. Find a perfectly-fitted blouse, some matching accessories and there’s no stopping you to look stylish whether in a formal do or a casual event.

So, this was my Top Favorite Saree draping styles from different states of our Country.

That's it for Now!

See You Soon!

Love!

TRADITIONAL WEAR OF INDIAN WOMEN ACROSS ALL DIFFERENT STATES

Hello Everyone!

So, this will be very interesting topic to discuss as we all agree that our country have its own cultural heritage and different states have different lifestyle. Here in this discussion we will see the different clothing and lifestyles of different states of our country.

What makes the Indian couture so unique is the fact that you will find each and every state of the country having its own distinct traditional clothing for men and women. For instance, the salwar kameez is the ethnic attire of women in Punjab; the Mekhala Chadar is worn by Assamese women, and so on. However, all types of Indian clothing look very elegant and Indians wear them with a lot of pride. The festivities and other special occasions are the time when you can see maximum Indians donning their ethnic garb, be it sari, kurta pajama or dhoti.

A sari is long strip of colorful multi-patterned cloth seductively wrapped around the body, teemed with a blouse! It's the traditional dress for the women folk in India and there are many styles in which you can drape it. The blouse worn with sari is also called the choli or ravika. The salwar kameez, on the other hand, is the most ubiquitous of all traditional women attires in India. Due to its popularity in the Punjab region, it is sometimes also called the Punjabi suit.

The Indian men's traditional attire consists of the kurta and pajama, dhoti, lungi and other dresses. Worn on both formal and informal occasions, kurta and pajama are quite popular dress of Indian men. The kurta is like a loose long shirt almost reaching the knees, whereas the Pyjama is a lightweight drawstring trouser. The men's dhoti is a rectangular piece of unstitched cloth about five yards long, wrapped about the waist and the legs and knotted at the waist. It is known by different names like Laacha in Punjabi, Mundu in Malayalam, Dhuti in Bangla, etc.

So, I am going to list down all the different lifestyles and clothing culture of all the different states of our country!

1. JAMMU KASHMIR-

Starting with the crown of our country, Jammu Kashmir have a really interesting lifestyle although we understand the difficulties of the people of Jammu Kashmir. I like the Kashmiri womens the most I don't know why?
Jammu and Kashmir is one of those states that has become famous for its many sided culture. The three regions namely Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh have different people with their diverse culture and traditions.

Dressing of Jammu & Kashmir-The moment you enter the state of Jammu and Kashmir, you will notice that the clothing here is totally different. Most people here wear traditional clothes, though you will see working executives and youngsters in western clothes as well. Traditional clothes for men include Kurta Pyjama in summers, but in winters, woolen clothes come out. A kind of an overcoat called Pheran is worn over Kurta. It is quite loose but inside Pheran, a warm pot called kangri is kept, such is the severity of winters here. For women, ladies suit and Burqha (veil) is the most common attire in summers and in winters Phreran are used. What lights your soul in Jammu and Kahsmir more than then anything is the beautiful people of the state. They teach you a new way of living a happy life under all circumstances and giving others a lesson.

2. HIMACHAL PRADESH- Costumes of Rajput or Brahmin women are very traditional. They usually wear kurtas, rahide and Ghagra Lehenga Choli. Most of the farmers and women working put on a loincloth, kurta and a traditional cap. During special occasions like parties, marriages and festivals, they wear new Kurta Pyjamas. The Chamba people love adornment. Head scarves are common among women in this community.

The influence of western culture and their wearing can be seen on young girls. Hand-woven is a trade mark (hallmark) of the clothing in Himachal Pradesh. The beautiful utility shoes are made from the grass by keeping in mind the size of feet and make them warm. Different styles of gowns, saris and kurtas are designed by handlooms.

3. UTTARAKHAND- The traditional clothing of Uttarakhand women are Ghagri, an oriental long skirt, topped off by a Choli, an Indian blouse and an Orni, a cloth covering the head and the front portion, usually fastened to the waist, happen to be the traditional costume of the women of Uttarakhand, namely, the Garhwalis and the Kumaonis. The traditional bridal costume of the Kumaoni is Ghaghra-Pichora, akin to Ghaghra Lehenga- Choli. Pichora is a Kumaoni veil or Rangwali, endowed with gold and silver tatting. But women also go for sarees. The hallmarks of Kumaoni woman are sindoor smeared on the forehead, and an enormous gold ring, called Nath. Further, Chareu, a black beaded necklace is worn by the married woman, is a holy accessory for Garhwali married woman. A luxury ornament item is Hansuli, a kind of necklace, preferred in gold by the rich, and in silver, by the less affluent, or poor.

Some of the ethnic groups, drape themselves in mantle-like clothing, called Sarong, girdled by a waistband and completed with a top-blouse. Muslin textiles, specially muslin veils or Rangwalis are assets of Uttarakhand costume designing. They come in auspicious hues of yellow, signifying warmth and cordiality and red, symbolic of the holy bond of marriage.

4. PUNJAB-Punjab is one colorful region of the world with rich culture that keeps on inspiring and attracting the people globally. The traditional women clothes of the region are perfect blends of beauty, elegance and comfort. Punjabi suits in different varieties are the most popular costumes that women in this region wear.

The significance of traditional Punjabi women wear can be seen in regular wear as well as for different types of occasions. From the festive celebrations of Baisakhi to the wedding rituals, these ethnic clothes are centers of attraction. In fact, these clothes completely justify the celebrating spirit of people in the state.

5. UTTAR PRADESH-For the women of Uttar Pradesh sari is the basic and the most graceful form of dress. The saree is draped in different styles in the cities and in the villages of the hills.

Salwar suit, lehangas, shararas, and gararas, the flairy parallel trouser-like dress, worn over long kurtas are also popular in the state, especially among the Muslim women.

6.HARYANA- Women of Haryana uses to wear a Chunder which is a long piece of cloth, available in a wide spectrum of colors. These wonderfully colored Chunder are tatted with shimmering laces. The Chunder are draped around the head and the front part of the body. The purpose of this cloth is similar to Dupatta of salwar-kameez and the Aanchal of the saree. Kurti is a shirt-like blouse, worn as a top-garment. It usually comes in white colour. Daman is the ankle-long skirt, flowing with a flare at the bottom. It normally comes in brilliant bright hues. The women in Haryana usually accessorize this attire with silver and gold jewellery.

7.RAJSTHAN- Rajasthani women wear ankle-length long skirts with narrow waist that gain width like an umbrella at the base. It is called 'ghaghara'. However, the length has been kept a little short on purpose, so that foot ornaments are visible. The width and the number of pleats in the 'ghaghara' symbolize one's prosperity. It comes in many colors and styles. The skirt is not folded at the lower end like normal skirts but a broad colored fabric known as sinjaf is sewn underneath to make it stronger. Ghagaras come in many styles but the most popular ones are dyed or printed cotton ghagharas with laharia, mothra and chunari prints just like the turbans of the males. The odhani is a cotton cloth 2.5 to 3 meters long and 1.5 to 2 meters wide that acts as a veil for women.

8.GUJRAT- Main costume of Gujrati Womes's are : Chaniyo and Choli
When it comes to the dressing style of Gujarat, the first and foremost thing that comes to mind is its unique culture and tradition. Though the western state of India – Gujarat has cultural costumes, they also reflect the changes and modernization. Moreover, the boom in fashion industry has influenced the culture of Gujarat. People have started adopting the western dresses. The weather condition of Gujarat also plays a big role in the clothing of its inhabitants. Apart from enriched outfits, females beautify and adorn themselves with ornaments, stylish accessories and fancy jewelleries.

9.MADHYA PRADESH- Madhya Pradesh is also called as “Heart of India” where costumes differ among people, tribes, cultures, religions and so on. The clothing of this state of India displays the multiplicity in diverse aspects. Textiles and handicrafts are designed beautifully with rich ornaments.
Most of the women in Madhya Pradesh wear Lehenga and Choli. There is another clothing i.e. Lugra or Odhni covered over the shoulder and head. Black and red are the most prominent colors which you can see in women’s dresses. Saree can also be seen on females in this part of India. Bandhani dresses are produced in bulk in Ujjain, Indore and Maundsar. To pain the fabric, modern wax is used and it is dyed using cold dyes. Hence the clothing is widely worn all across Madhya Pradesh. Maheshwari Sarees and Chanderi Sarees have fame not only in the state but other parts of India and world as well. MUST HAVE MAKEUP PRODUCTS FOR BEGINNERS

Hey Girl's!

If you are a beginner in the field of makeup and want to know about the good makeup products which are budget friendly too. This post is for you all who are just starting out in the huge world of makeup
Most of the young teenagers would go for the kajal and lip gloss or occasionally some eyeliner, But when you think of building up your makeup kit, then comes the question what are the makeup products you need to store. Are there any product that you really don’t need much as they need an advanced skill set.  Must have product in their makeup kit.

So, here’s what I think are good to be in a basic makeup kit have a look and decide accordingly-

1. BB Creams & CC Creams For Base Makeup-

As beginner BB or CC cream must be in your vanity these are the best for daily wear skin. BB Or CC Creams are easy to work with as you don't need to be carefull as in the case of foundations. Just apply them like the regular cream by dotting all over the face and they make the skin better than before. You can try BB creams from Ponds, Garnier, Lotus  Maybelline. Apart from all these my favorite is Ponds BB Cream and Garnier too. For CC cream you can check out Lakme CC cream these are really good to work with.

2. Foundations-

If You are getting ready for a party and you need a little more coverage and glossy finish of your skin for that perfact party look then you can try foundations for extra coverage and party look. You can try foundations from the different brands like- Maybelline FitMe ,  Loreal Nude Foundation, MAC Studio fix and other too which will suit your skin type and tone.

3. Eye Liners-

For that perfact smoky eye look you would need eye liners and you can try Eye Liners from Lakme 9 to 5 range Blue Heaven, Maybelline and many others. You can also try some kohl pencils for that perfect smoky eye makeup.

4. Lip Liners-

Even if you are beginner in makeup, I will suggest including lip liners in your kit as they are great to help prevent the lipstick bleeding and also makes the lipstick lasts longer. Just a tip: Never leave the lip liner by just lining the outer edges, fill the lips in with the lip liner too else when the lipstick wipes off when you eat, drink etc, the lip line peeking through looks terrible. You can choose lip liners from different brands like Miss Claire, Maybelline and others too.

5. Concealers-

Even Concealers are not necessary in  my opinion but if you have dark under eye or pigmented eye lids as the darkness over and under the eyes can make you look dull hence a concealer can help with that. Include a concealer which is easy to apply like the stick or pencil form as they are easy to work with that the pot or tub concealers. Just apply and smudge/blend with your ring finger. Use little loose powder and you have done. Concealers should be just a shade lighter than your skin tone.

6. Mascaras-

Mascara can open up your eyes and make you look fresh and light so this is the by default product for beginners and can be used daily without hassle. It is easy to apply products and help to make the eyelashes thicker and longer. You can buy eyelashes from Coloressecne , Maybelline , Lakme .
I personally liked the Coloressence one when I was a beginner in makeup and I still love this.

7. Eye Shadow-

As beginner you don't need a huge collection of Eyeshadow Palette You just need some natural Eye Shadow kits for starting off your makeup, by neutral eye shadows, I mean a gold, bronzy, copper which goes with the Indian and western outfit for the night time and for the day time, you can try shades like matte brown, matte burnt orange such colors will looks good and goes with all attires.

8. Blush-

For applying blushes you need to be some expert in this field but as a beginner you can try blush carefully. If you apply the blush or bronzer incorrectly then they can make you look aged or unattractive. This is why, I think blushes are still be better than the bronzer to keep in your makeup kits. But remember to apply the blush on the apples of the cheeks and then swipes the brush near the sides towards the ears so that it looks natural and not like two circles on the cheeks. You can try peach blush, pink or peachy pinks which goes well with most of the skin tones and makeup looks.

9. Compacts-

Compacts are necessary for all those makeup lovers even if you are a beginner or a expert. Compact will help you with the excessive oil and to get a matte looking face. Most of the times you can use the compact over the BB cream to get some more coverage and decent skin.

10. Lipsticks-

Yes Lipsticks!
These are my babies. They are absolute must have products for beginners or anyone. Even if you don’t use makeup a lot then too lipstick is one thing we all have and know how to use it decently. The colors, textures everything is your choice. But make sure to use lip liners if you will be using lipstick that bleeds or feather.

11. Makeup Brush-

To use blushes or eye shadows you need some makeup brushes too. As makeup beginners you need some base makeup brushes like- brush for blush, for eyeshadow brush lip brush extra.

12. Makeup Remover-

Makeup Remover are must for all either you are a beginner or a pro in makeup. You can use cleansing milk to remove makeup. You can also use coconut oil as makeup remover as you need.

So, this is it For now!

I hope this post will help you all who want to start the art of makeup!

KITCHEN INGRIDIENTS FOR HEALTH & BEAUTY

Hello Everyone!

Today Let's Talk about all Natural and Home Remedy for our health and Beauty. I will list down some of the natural home ingridients which is available in our Kitchen from the generations now and can be used in various way!

There’s something about learning beauty secrets from other cultures that makes our heartbeat quicken. We’ve already established that Asia is light-years ahead of the U.S. when it comes to skin care but what about an area of the world where beauty secrets are passed down through generations, lovingly shared by mothers to their daughters? We’re talking about South Asian countries like India and Pakistan, as well as areas in the Middle East. There, beauty rituals are more about understanding the importance of ancient, natural-based rituals that have withstood the test of time—because they work.
“Ever since I was very little, I remember my mother encouraging me to use natural things at home,” “Of course, as a kid, all I wanted were the chemical-laden things my friends had—but now, as a makeup artist, everything has come full circle.” We asked asked if she could share these natural-minded beauty secrets, and lucky for us, she was happy to divulge.

“Turmeric is amazing. Specifically,  the skin benefits it delivers when used in a traditional homemade mask called  ubtan. “You can use this mask at any time of the year, but it’s deeply rooted in Indian and Pakistani wedding tradition, as part of the beauty rituals for brides-to-be,” . “Before a woman gets married, the women closest to her will make this concoction and apply it to her face and body—it’s a cure-all that encourages skin clearing, brightening, and softening.” .

You can use this as mentioned below:

Ingredients:2 tbsp. gram flour (besan)
A pinch of turmeric (haldi)
A pinch of ground sandalwood
2 tbsp. of rose water
2 tbsp. of milk

Direction to Use:
1. Mix all of the ingredients together to create a paste.
2. Apply it to your face and keep it on until it dries (1520 minutes).
3. Rinse off with warm water.

COCONUT OIL:

When it comes to oils, I am a fan but I do not use it regularly. “I hated oils as a kid—I just wanted to feel like everyone else!” . “But now, as an adult, I appreciate them, and am so grateful to my mom for making them a part of my beauty routine.” The oil she still swears by? Coconut. “Nowadays, it’s everywhere—but back in the day, it wasn’t,” she says. “Every other weekend, my mom would scoop out a chunk of coconut oil in her hands and warm it up by rubbing it in her palms. Then, she’d apply it to my hair and scalp and comb it through, and then I’d sit in the sun for about an hour to let it soak in.” The result? Long, thick, shiny, locks. “To this day, my hair routine is super simple. “I credit coconut oil to my hair’s health, length, and shine.”

MUSTARD OIL:

The most commonly overheard thing from our kitchen is Mustard oil or Sarson ka tel. This was the most glorified and the authentic cooking oil which is a must in recipes like Sarson ka saag, fish curry, pooris and mixed veg.
Delicacies cooked in mustard oil taste even more delicious and memorable. Whether you eat a roadside dhabha or a five-star hotel, there are some cuisines which can’t be imagined without mustard oil. And especially ours is a country where mustard oil is used for cooking in every nook and corner.

But this darkish yellow oil is not only confined to cooking, it is also used for body massage, skin and hair rejuvenation and many rituals as well. It has been known to fight skin infections, removal of body toxins, resolving the dry skin issues, etc. The list goes on. This oil has an excellent antifungal and antibacterial properties which help fight skin rashes and also contributes to skin lightening. Read on further to know some more mustard oil benefits.

Mustard oil for Skin – Natural sunscreen
We are now used to wear a sunscreen containing SPF 20+, but we can’t overlook the natural sunscreen bestowed to us- the mustard oil. It is thick in consistency and have high levels of vitamin E, so it also doubles up as a natural sunscreen. The vitamin E in the mustard oil shields the skin from the harmful action of sun’s UV radiations and keeps the premature wrinkles and other signs of ageing at bay.

LEMONS:

Lemon juice is increasingly becoming popular among DIY homemade skin treatment routines, thanks to its wide range of many beauty healthy benefits. It has become a major ingredient in many cosmetic products that are naturally biased. While some of the skin benefits of lemon juice have been scientifically proven, other claims about lemon juice are still in their experimental phases, and this fluid may not work equally for every skin type. It is, therefore, important to contact your dermatologist before trying, especially if you have a sensitive skin type. Here are some beauty tips you should try with lemon juice.
