KITCHEN INGRIDIENTS FOR HEALTH & BEAUTY

Hello Everyone!

Today Let's Talk about all Natural and Home Remedy for our health and Beauty. I will list down some of the natural home ingridients which is available in our Kitchen from the generations now and can be used in various way!

There’s something about learning beauty secrets from other cultures that makes our heartbeat quicken. We’ve already established that Asia is light-years ahead of the U.S. when it comes to skin care but what about an area of the world where beauty secrets are passed down through generations, lovingly shared by mothers to their daughters? We’re talking about South Asian countries like India and Pakistan, as well as areas in the Middle East. There, beauty rituals are more about understanding the importance of ancient, natural-based rituals that have withstood the test of time—because they work.
“Ever since I was very little, I remember my mother encouraging me to use natural things at home,” “Of course, as a kid, all I wanted were the chemical-laden things my friends had—but now, as a makeup artist, everything has come full circle.” We asked asked if she could share these natural-minded beauty secrets, and lucky for us, she was happy to divulge.

“Turmeric is amazing. Specifically,  the skin benefits it delivers when used in a traditional homemade mask called  ubtan. “You can use this mask at any time of the year, but it’s deeply rooted in Indian and Pakistani wedding tradition, as part of the beauty rituals for brides-to-be,” . “Before a woman gets married, the women closest to her will make this concoction and apply it to her face and body—it’s a cure-all that encourages skin clearing, brightening, and softening.” .

You can use this as mentioned below:

Ingredients:2 tbsp. gram flour (besan)
A pinch of turmeric (haldi)
A pinch of ground sandalwood
2 tbsp. of rose water
2 tbsp. of milk

Direction to Use:
1. Mix all of the ingredients together to create a paste.
2. Apply it to your face and keep it on until it dries (1520 minutes).
3. Rinse off with warm water.

COCONUT OIL:

When it comes to oils, I am a fan but I do not use it regularly. “I hated oils as a kid—I just wanted to feel like everyone else!” . “But now, as an adult, I appreciate them, and am so grateful to my mom for making them a part of my beauty routine.” The oil she still swears by? Coconut. “Nowadays, it’s everywhere—but back in the day, it wasn’t,” she says. “Every other weekend, my mom would scoop out a chunk of coconut oil in her hands and warm it up by rubbing it in her palms. Then, she’d apply it to my hair and scalp and comb it through, and then I’d sit in the sun for about an hour to let it soak in.” The result? Long, thick, shiny, locks. “To this day, my hair routine is super simple. “I credit coconut oil to my hair’s health, length, and shine.”

MUSTARD OIL:

The most commonly overheard thing from our kitchen is Mustard oil or Sarson ka tel. This was the most glorified and the authentic cooking oil which is a must in recipes like Sarson ka saag, fish curry, pooris and mixed veg.
Delicacies cooked in mustard oil taste even more delicious and memorable. Whether you eat a roadside dhabha or a five-star hotel, there are some cuisines which can’t be imagined without mustard oil. And especially ours is a country where mustard oil is used for cooking in every nook and corner.

But this darkish yellow oil is not only confined to cooking, it is also used for body massage, skin and hair rejuvenation and many rituals as well. It has been known to fight skin infections, removal of body toxins, resolving the dry skin issues, etc. The list goes on. This oil has an excellent antifungal and antibacterial properties which help fight skin rashes and also contributes to skin lightening. Read on further to know some more mustard oil benefits.

Mustard oil for Skin – Natural sunscreen
We are now used to wear a sunscreen containing SPF 20+, but we can’t overlook the natural sunscreen bestowed to us- the mustard oil. It is thick in consistency and have high levels of vitamin E, so it also doubles up as a natural sunscreen. The vitamin E in the mustard oil shields the skin from the harmful action of sun’s UV radiations and keeps the premature wrinkles and other signs of ageing at bay.

LEMONS:

Lemon juice is increasingly becoming popular among DIY homemade skin treatment routines, thanks to its wide range of many beauty healthy benefits. It has become a major ingredient in many cosmetic products that are naturally biased. While some of the skin benefits of lemon juice have been scientifically proven, other claims about lemon juice are still in their experimental phases, and this fluid may not work equally for every skin type. It is, therefore, important to contact your dermatologist before trying, especially if you have a sensitive skin type. Here are some beauty tips you should try with lemon juice.

Lemons can be used in various ways Like;

1. Skin Brightening-
Lemon juice is loaded with citric acid and vitamin C, which are essential in skin brightening and lightening if used regularly. Vitamin C has high antioxidant properties that help in the fight against free radicals responsible for cell damage.

2. Skin Bleaching-The skin on your knees and elbows may appear darker than other body parts. Some says that rubbing with a half slice of lemon fruit can significantly improve their appearance instantly.

3. For Blackheads-If you have oily skin that is prone to acne, blackheads are inevitable after the zits break open and heal. Lemon juice has antibacterial properties that can speed up acne treatment. Simply take a slice of lemon and squeeze the juice into your skin. This will help to diminish the appearance of blackhead and other blemishes on your skin within a short duration.

4. Teeth Whitening-There are many factors that cause staining of teeth, but mixing lemon juice with baking powder and brushing it directly on your teeth can make them whiter. Do not forget to rinse with water once you are done. Why should you make that trip to your dentist.

5. Nail Strengthening-If you frequent salon to get manicures, you should consider preparing your own concoction using olive oil and lemon juice to strengthen your nails. Soak your nails in the mixture to make them soft if they are dry and brittle. When done regularly, it will also help to fix nails that have been stained.

HENNA:

Henna was a big deal at home. “We know that henna is still used to this day all over South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa to adorn the hands and feet of brides and wedding guests, but we used it all the time for hair enhancement, too.” I remember how my mom and Chachis would color and treat her hair with henna but recommends following with a coconut oil hair mask after washing it out, since henna can be drying. But unlike chemical dyes, henna doesn’t do permanent damage to your locks—instead, it strengthens, adds texture, boosts, shine, and can even help with dandruff. Curious about using henna on your hair?
